Shot my buck Thursday morning in TA R2, an eight-pointer dressing out at 204lbs. Got him with my .270 in the fog and mist walking up an old skidder trail. I'll post some pics once my brother emails them to me. I don't take a camera with me when I go into camp because its bad luck.

My flatlander brother-in-law struck out even with his doe permit on his week hunt in Northern Maine. I feel I did my job as he saw 11 deer over the course of the week and had three broadside shots at does. I think the excitement must have gotten to him. On our last day (Saturday the 11th) I pulled into a field at 4:15 to find a doe standing on the edge of the field at 100 yards. He loaded my .270 as I found a good rest for him and after the shot I'll just say I wasn't very hopefull about finding a bloodtrail, but still spent the next hour and a half looking for any signs of a wounded deer. He was a perfect 3 for 3 in clean misses. He's a good shot when it's paper in his sights I guess he understands what I was telling him about it being a lot different when its a deer you have in your sights.

Hey Steve, that is awesome. Too bad about your BIL though. At least he got to experience some excitement. Photos? Where are the photos? :D

Nice buck, congratulations. A Mass hunter after being in the woods only two hrs shot a 9pt 226lbs with a 24 1/2 in. inside spread. I went up early Sunday morning to see it, but they had headed south.--One of those lucky buck chasing a doe deals that we all want to have happen to us.

Thanks guys, I'm just going to mount the horns on the wall. He had about an inch broken off of one of his tines. I was thinking about a European mount, but I didn't dare screw it up, I'll see how my brothers 4 point comes out that he's trying. I haven't forgotten about you Jack, we'll get together to talk after the season ends. Any sightings of Grey Ghost yet?

Nice buck there Grizzly Adams. You haven't done much for the Maine/Massachusetts relationships though among hunters. LOL
Congrats. I posted a short story and a pic of my little buck at the BBB.

Good luck and stay in touch.
