If you haven't yet made your New Year's resolution, Gladys Schaefer has a suggestion for you: Resolve to seize each day and make the most of it.

"Don't stop doing things till you're in the grave!" advises the 80-year-old who bagged her first deer last month, and did it within 30 minutes of the hunt's beginning.

Gladys, who is mother of local sheriff's office clerk Bert Lynn and mother-in-law of Alcan employee Mark Lynn, sighs and says that healthy folks who settle for sedentary lifestyles "are to be pitied."

This mother of four, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of seven loves boating, plays golf three or four times a week, and is getting ready for a trip to Las Vegas where she plans to relieve the casinos of some of their money.
