What: Fur, Fin and Feather Day, focusing on the economic impact of Maine's fish and wildlife - based industries.

Where: The Hall of Flags at the State House State Street, Augusta, ME 04333

When: Tuesday, February 8, 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.Governor John E. Baldacci will speak at 10:00 a.m. concerning the importance of Maine's hunting, fishing and
trapping industries as important segments of Maine's natural resource based economies.

Focus: Hunting, fishing and trapping are a significant part of Maine's heritage and economy and on Tuesday, February 8, organizations representing these industries will gather at the state house to commemorate Fur, Fin and Feather day.

At 10:00 a.m., Governor John E. Baldacci will address those gathered and discuss the importance of these industries, and the impact these natural resource - based industries have on Maine's economy.

Organizations that will be there include Ducks Unlimited, the Izaak Walton League, Maine Audubon Society, Maine Bowhunters Association, Maine Department of Conservation, Maine
Department of Marine Resources, Maine Muzzleloading Sports Association, Maine
Professional Guides Association, Maine Association of Taxidermists, Maine Trappers Association, North Maine Woods, Sportsmen's Forest Landowners Association, Safari Club International, Sportsman's Alliance of Maine, Trout Unlimited, and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
