I was having one of those "what if..." conversation with someone eralier today and we were discussing how gun owners will react when the government imposes gun registration sometime in the not too distant future. So I have posted this poll and thought this thread could be left for friendly discussion of how people should adress the situation when it arises.

The US government polled the troops about 10 or 12 years ago and most of the troops said they wouldn't fire on US citizens if [the government] required gun registration or confiscation.
Sure, many folks (I call them sheeple) will lie down and cower like a beaten dog but the ones who stand up and fight as the authors of the US Constitution intended us to do when government gets out of hand, will be the next leaders of this country.

What is funny is that someone one the web asks a question and everybody likes to brag about what gun they use for deer hunting or turkey or coyote. Well, now the government has a list of at least some of what you own and if the day ever comes, they will come to YOUR house looking for said guns!

Careful what you post . . . someone is ALWAYS watching.

I totally agree with you Jack. I don't think many people seriously think about anybody watching what they talk about on the internet, but I guarantee you this thread has been or is going to be flagged and read by the gov't.

just about every gun forum has a few of these polls annually.im sure They will just write it off as bravado and just talk

As Jack says, the sheeple will lie down and cower. It will be interesting to see what kind of numbers really stand their ground. They'll have to find mine and whole lot of others first.

For the record, I was the one voter of the "I don't know". Because I really don't know for sure until the time comes.

What I find interesting and would like to point out is that Ithaca37 never leaves gray area on issues such as this. Please don't get me wrong, I don't fault that in any way. Most people, myself probably included, would have created that poll and inserted an option that lie somewhere in the middle of give em up and fight to the death.
