what do you have and how does it shoot?

I use a Lyman Great Plains Rifle, .50 flintlock. T/C is another good "mountain-style" rifle, as far as out of the box rifles go, but the Lyman is more authentic in its styling. My next one will be a custom-built smoothbore flinter, once I convince the CFO I just gotta have one. The bad side is parts alone will run me over $700, and then I'll have to put over 100hr.s into the build.

i got a cva kodiak inline but i want to join a pre 1840 reenacting group and i want a a Lyman Great plains 50 cal flint lock.. i am thinking of getting a kit, i am good with my hands and a wood worker too!! http://www.buffaloarms.com/browse.cfm/4,1767.htm or just buy a kentuky 50 cal flint lock, i like the feel of a long rifle...

I use a Thomson Center Hawken rifle in 45 cal.

Shoots pretty fair.

Mine is a Thompson-Center (soon to be Smith and Wesson) Hawken in .50 Cal.,90 grains of ffg, 350 Grain Speer conical. It groups under 3" at 100 yds.

TC Hawken 50 Cal. Kit. My hunting load is a 290 grain 44 cal. LFN with "Breakaway sabot", 90 gr. Pyrodex RS. MOM (moment of moose) accuracy at 100yds.
