Well, my brother estimates that its a 150-160lb bear. I'm guessing more like 125-130 based on the hide and pictures (I didn't get to see it whole). Its his first bear, and he did everything himself. He started baiting about 2 1/2 weeks before he shot it, and was getting discouraged when he had both baits get hit one day about a week and half after he started baiting. He called me all excited because he found his first bait site empty, and was missing his 5 gallon bucket at the second site. Then the bait went cold for a week, when he jumped the bear off the bait on a Friday after work and on Saturday afternoon he went in with his tree stand and rifle. At just past 6 he caught the bear sneaking towards the bait, and waited to make sure it was alone. He said the bear never actually went all the way to the bait before turning around figuring something wasn't right. He paused broadside briefly and that was the bears demise. He made a perfect shot with his .270 through the boiler works and the bear went 40 yards right to the edge of the trail he drives his 4-wheeler in to bait. It was a male and had a nice shiny hide.
