After over twenty years of applying for a permit, I was finally drawn. After a very hard week of effort with no moose seen, we called in four bulls on Saturday morning and made a nice clean kill one which field dressed 720 pounds. Anyone who thinks it's easy to take a moose in Maine probably hasn't hunted moose here often. We earned this moose, but what an incredible experience.

I'm 67 and probably won't ever get to hunt moose again,. You younger guy--keep applying. It is one of the great experience in the Maine outdoors!

what district were you hunting? you must have been getting a bit antsy by Saturday. were the four bulls the first moose you had seen?
