I read yesterday where the N.H. Fish and Game wants to up the number of moose permits to up over 700 from like 540. They say in the northern regions there's just too dang many moose.

Guess I'll take my chances in the NH lottery this year. All of a sudden if I somehow get drawn in ME its a pretty penny for the tag. Had to get all my buddies to list me as a sub-permittee. Not that I think a Moose hunt is overly challenging, but I'd love to be on one. Plus the meat is most excellent. The hardest thing is finding one standing in the middle of a logging road and dropping it in its tracks. My brother did just that 3 years ago on a logging road in Forkstown. Loaded his four-wheeler on his truck, hitched up the trailer and used the winch off his wheeler to slide that 600lb cow right onto the trailer. No dragging needed!
