I was at the meeting in PI where the Commisioner stated his intent to form a focus group to study the issues. The truth is that most hunters and nearly all landowners want the turkeys to be placed here. In fact in May Houlton is inside the Turkey zone and I get to hunt at home this Spring and Fall. We have to sensitive to the dairy farmers concerns but at the same time how much money will be spent here to hunt turkeys???? Guides can now offer hunts here that never happened before. That has to be good for us.....
That's nice to hear. Often times I get caught up in only the media aspect of these events and I don't hear how the real people feel about issues. The media seems to be wanting to make an issue about the farmers complaints. So, it's good to hear that you think the majority thinks this is a good idea.
