In case you didn't know that's what young turkey hatchlings are called.

I talked with a wildlife biologist late evening and we got talking about baby turkeys. He said he has never seen so many of them as this spring. He also said that he is currently seeing them that are all sizes.

Have you noticed where you are any younguns and if so how big are they? We were trying to decide if the real little ones he's seeing ( only days old) were from a second batch or not.

Turkey poults have a pretty high mortality rate. Wet cold spring weather can play as big a factor on killing little ones as anything. But the turkeys will keep laying eggs if they can.

What are any of you seeing in your area?
