Must have been a bad, or not so bad winter there this year.. how ever you want to look at it. Talked to a buddy of mine today and he said he saw an 8 pointer with still one side of rack left around the second week of March. Anyone see any deer with racks that late before?

I've photograhed 7 different bucks from mid Jan to March 27 this year. The last one was an 8 on the 27th.

I always believed that the younger deer drop antlers later in the Spring and I have seen some giant deer in January without their antlers.

I imagine on a good food year (which we had last fall) the younger bucks grow larger racks. So a two year old buck could sport a pretty nice rack and keep it through March.

Thats hard to beleive but I did see young bull moose with 1 antler run through my front yard with 1 horn on monday night. { April 10}
