Is the Real ID Bill Good For America?

Essentially this bill would establish a nat'l ID card that would be required to do just about anything, this card would be linked to all of the data the Gov't had on you and would probably include biometrics (fingerprints, DNA, Retinal Scan, etc.).

Personally, I think this is bad for everyone. Unfortunately, this is one of those very costly "feel good" bills that, if passed, would make the left feel like they are much more protected and this would not be the case.
The money should be better spent sealing up our boarders and prohibiting listed terrorists and suspected rift-raft from getting in.
