Slaughterhouse politics

Just read in BDN that slaughterhouses will now have to isolate the animal to be killed, keep it from view of the other animals, and remove it's dead carcass out of view of the next critter.

What the _____ is going on ? Now that's just plain dumb.....and scary.

Has that passed the House and Senate? The last I had heard, it was only a proposed bill.
That proves how stupid some people are, to be giving human qualities to animals.
Do they really think an animal can contemplate their future?
LD57 is in fact pending.......would become law by Jan. 1st 2009.

The scariest part is the thought process.........."animal consciousness" ...... this anthropormorphic bull that is sweeping popular culture. I'm sorry.... but animals don't rationalize........
According to the sponsors of the bill, they believe that when animals are in close proximity to an animal that is being killed at slaughter raises their stress level and therefore is considered to be "inhumane". What the hell does human mean? What does humane mean? And what does Inhumane mean?
ILL THINK OF THAT NEXT TIME I RUN INTO A HERD OF DEER DO I SEPERATE BEFORE I BLOW ONE AWAY :p
Ah yes, the next legislation shall be:

BS246: When hunting, one may only "harvest" an animal if there are no other animals of the same species within 200yds and any other animal within 100yds. Birds need to be at least 50yds away from said harvested animal and insects larger than the common house fly must be 25yds away. Once animal is "harvested" said animal must have vital signs taken and if signs appear, ressucitation must commence immediatly and 911 must be called.
