anyone doing any spring bear hunting. I have gone for the past 5 years and love it. But it seems so few other people chase bear that tiem of year.

I have never hunted bear but want to take a stab at it some time. I always tell myself if I ever come across a bear while deer hunting I would take it but never really had the chance.

In NB it is illigal to kill a sow with cubs or cub (unlike here in Maine). I wish we had an open spring season here.

Love bear meat.......but not in spring.......rather stare at donuts in fall!!!!

I hear that. I rarley eat bear taken in the spring, very tough meat and spoils quick. We hunt mostly for population control and the hides that time of year. It is the one hunt I do not eat what I kill. For the most part that is a rule I live by.

Agree.........never even thought about eating 'yotes or rats though.
