Well, another HIKER (non-paying wilderness user) got himself lost over the weekend. I am wondering what the cost was to go find this moron?

Didn't he have two comapasses, one to use and one to lose? (BASIC) It doesn't sound like he even had one!
Didn't he understand that if you walk DOWNHILL you will come to a road-river-town-house-something? (another BASIC survival skill)

How much money has been taken away from fish and wildlife services, Warden service and whatever else SPORTSMEN PAY FOR?

I think HE should foot the whole bill for his rescue and his buddies should be charged with moron endangerment!

Maybe it is time for people be required to pass some sort of basic map and compass (or commons sense) course before they can go on a wilderness hike. That search and rescue costs thousands I am sure. He should get a bill.

These same idiots that get lost in the woods put demands on hunters that we should have to take every course and test known to mankind and then some so we don't shoot somebody. These fools get lost and put more people at risk than all hunters combined.

I say let em find their own way out.
